Program Background
Worcester Homecoming is a program designed to identify and gather business leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and other highly successful individuals who feel a deep connection and calling to invest in the great city of Worcester. This immersive two-day event includes a host of successful “expats” who grew up, went to school, or spent time in the region. It is an opportunity to network, share memories, spark creative ideas, tour the city, and learn about valuable investment opportunities.
WHY WORCESTER, WHY NOW?
Worcester finds itself in the midst of a renaissance. Our goal is to help sustain and invigorate Worcester’s current momentum by linking the community of successful expats to a broad array of existing initiatives. This includes investment and involvement in opportunities across the city in the areas of economic growth, workforce development, arts and culture, and non-profit impact.
WHEN IS WORCESTER HOMECOMING TAKING PLACE?
The event will take place April 23-24, 2025. The program will include top venue tours, interactive panel conversations and an open house featuring many of the region’s top start-ups and entrepreneurs.
WHO LEADS THE PROGRAM?
Worcester Homecoming is led by a cohort of active business and community leaders. Representatives from Worcester Business Journal, Polar Beverages, The Hanover Insurance Group, UMass Memorial Health Care, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Fidelity Bank and other local institutions are committed to the program.
Worcester Homecoming is a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce acts as the program’s fiscal sponsor.
WHO ATTENDS WORCESTER HOMECOMING?
Worcester Homecoming is an invitation-only program for individuals who are “Worcester-Made Ex-Pat”, and proud of it. Invitees may be Worcester-born, or from the surrounding region, people who were raised here or spent part of their childhood in the area. Others may have attended a Worcester college or worked in Worcester for a period of their careers, and their love for the region remains. Invitees have power, insights, and ideas, and when plugged into the excitement of Worcester, many will be willing to leverage their knowledge, expertise and capital to advance Worcester to be one of the best mid-sized cities in the country.
