After work today, and all day tomorrow, I’ll be leaving Boston to spend some time in the Heart of the Commonwealth. Starting this evening, dozens of professionals who grew up in Worcester, went to school there or otherwise have ties there are returning to the second-largest city in New England as part of a three-day event called “Worcester Homecoming 2022.”

As a Worcester native, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check it out and learn more about all of the changes and economic development taking place in my hometown. I recently spoke with one of the event’s co-chairs, Sherri Pitcher, director of marketing at Fontaine Brothers, who told me it’s been in the works for two-and-a-half years (thanks, Covid) and is based on a similar event in Detroit.
